Turning 85 is a big deal and at Westwood Care Home in Selby! We recently had the loveliest afternoon celebrating Val’s 85th birthday and it is fair to say the whole home got involved!
Live music, good food and great company
To mark the occasion we welcomed the Hotdogz Ukulele Band, a brilliant local group based in Escrick, who performed a wonderful afternoon set for Val and our residents. The music had everyone smiling and more than a few feet tapping along. It was exactly the kind of afternoon that reminds you how much a bit of live music can lift a room!
Our cooks put on a lovely party buffet topped off with a very chocolatey, delicious birthday cake!
Why moments like this matter
Birthdays are important. They are a chance to feel celebrated, to be surrounded by people who care about you and to have a day that is truly yours. We love to mark these milestones properly at both of our homes, along with the family and friends of residents. A birthday should feel special whatever your age and we will always do our best to make sure it does.
Val, it was such a privilege to celebrate with you. Here’s to the next one!
